Another week, another announcement, this time from Microsoft.
Microsoft launches Copilot+ PC
This week Microsoft announced their new category of PC’s designed for AI - Copilot+ PCs. Here are the major features worth talking about;
Recall - Users will be able to quickly find and remember what they have seen or done on their PC.

Live Captions - Translates audio from 40+ languages into English in real-time across all apps and platforms, enabled to run locally on the device.
Windows Studio Effects - Includes features like portrait light, creative filters, eye contact teleprompter, voice focus, and portrait blur to enhance video communication.
Copilot with GPT-4o - Copilot on Copilot Plus PCs ship with Open AI’s latest model GPT-4o, allowing the AI assistant to interact with your PC via text, video, and voice and have a natural conversation with it.
Copilot AI PC Assistant - giving you quick summaries of messages with suggestions on how to respond.

OpenAI has been in talks with Scarlett Johansson's team due to concerns over the voice similarity of ChatGPT's 'Sky' to the actress from her role in HER.
OpenAI clarified that 'Sky' is not Scarlett Johansson's voice and expressed regret over the miscommunication.
Scarlett Johansson responded to the controversy regarding the resemblance and her previous involvement with OpenAI.

OpenAI and News Corp formed a multi-year partnership to enhance products with premium journalism and reliable information.
OpenAI granted access to current and archived content from major News Corp publications.
Why does this matter?
This collaboration aims to enrich OpenAI’s products with high-quality journalism, ensuring users receive reliable information (because GPT’s are trained on the data and information it receives). News Corp will also provide journalistic expertise to maintain high standards of reporting within OpenAI’s offerings.
